Mummy Dates Project 2017

Hello you lovely lot!! How are you all today? I hope you’re well and happy. I myself and fully embracing 2017 with both arms and more importantly my mind.

Today’s blog is a little different and proudly in conjunction with Sprinkle of Glitter (Louise Pentland) and it’s a little reminder to enjoy our kids! I know how ridiculous that sounds but I’m sure we all fall prey to the washing pile slowly mounting, the ironing that needs to be done and the other adulting things that MUST get done.
Especially with two children it can be hard to share your time evenly with them. Time that they need with you and I know I always feel a pang of guilt when we haven’t been able to find much family time.
The thing is I do have time, we all do! So what if the washing load wasn’t done that day, it’ll get done. So what if I didn’t write that blog I’ve been waiting a week to write, it’ll get done!
One thing that we don’t get to do another day is have our children as they are in that moment! They grow so quickly it some times feels like you blink and boom they’re 6 and 3.

This year I will be joining in with the ‘Mummy Dates Project’ to make sure that I dedicate special time to my little sprogs where it is just us! No T.V or phones or social media, just us! I want to point out that I of course spend time with my lads however it’s more about being in the moment than just entertaining your child.

I started today with my youngest, Koby, who’s not at nursery so it was a perfect time to spend some one on one time with him and we started with a spot of lunch with a cake.

We then moved on to decorate/paint plaster Dinosaurs (crimbo present). Now we didn’t even need leave the house to achieve this so proves it’s not about money it’s about time. I also loved getting painty and rather than worry about what I’ll have to clean up, just enjoying the moment.

My little boy loved it and really thrived from the one on time and you could see in his little face he really relished having my undivided attention. I am now planning my day with my eldest, Jett, as I know he will love the time with me. I only took three pictures of us enjoying the activity as oviously I wanted to enjoy it!

As I said being time consumed by day to day life can happen to us all and I would like to thank Louise for reminding me to stop! To stop and prioritise and remember the chores can wait but my boys can’t and our moments together are precious and some times few!

Why don’t you try out the Mummy Dates Project 2017 and for more info check out This from Louise herself. Even if you’re not a blogger it’s such a good practice to take on as part of your routine. Let me know in the comments if you will be joining in!

I hope you enjoyed this different blog as I know I will massively! I will be documenting a few of these dates for my blogs. So keep you’re eyes peeled over on my Social Media for more of these and all my blogs.

Lots of Love
