Valentines Day Special

Ahhh February! The month of love, flowers, chocolates and cards. Or in my case the month after January and before March (lol). Today, however, I am sharing some outfit inspirations with you. More than that, as the title suggests, it is a Valentine’s day special. I hope you find the perfect outfit. Or a nudge in the right directions to knock your date off their feet if you have a big Valentines day date.
I have tried to focus on colours, patterns and styles that I predict (from checking the big designers) will be big this year. That means you can have a little head start on a few of this years trend. So, not only are getting some great valentines day outfit inspiration. They are also trends you can take through until Summer.
I created all of these looks on a fab fashion app called Polyvore. Just to note this is not an add I just really love this app. So, here is my Valentines day outfit ideas.
OutfitInspiration2018Spring and Summer Fashion this year is all about that statement piece. A bold print or bright colour. Something that stands out and has a real pop about it. This outfit covers both these bases. With the gorgeous, almost, coral red dress and the gentle but bold pattern it’s so cute. The cut to the dress is really sweet and the frills on the arm to take the eyes to the top of the outfit. Great if you’re conscious about your legs but would like to wear a dress. I kept this outfit really simple with a punky leather jacket just add a bit of edge and character to the outfit. Super cute black ankle heels to elongate the legs. Topped off with the perfect Valentines day heart bag. I love how simple and clean this outfit looks but so much going on and so many trends blended together.

The little black dress has been a staple in so many wardrobes for decades. IT AINT GOING NOWHERE!! With that said though I tend to find I feel like I’m going to a funeral when I over black an outfit. A little black dress is like Valentine’s day date goals? So what do you do? It’s Spring, so you add a pastel colour. Pastel shades were on all the catwalks during the Spring/Summer shows and you can pretty much take your pick of pastel colour to add with an LBD. Here I styled a cute frilled and lace dress with a gorgeous pastel pink. The pink brings a sophisticated, flirtiness to the outfit that is just perfect for Valentine’s Day. Plus you can mix and match shades of pinks to build up your outfits such as different shades on your lips and nails.

With this outfit, I have, again, mixed a few trends that were shining through both on the catwalks and high street fashion scenes. The first is pleated dresses and skirts which I am not sure how I feel about. Pleats are not my thing! Here I have chosen a lightly pleated, skater style skirt. This will be easier to wear if, like me, you’re a little nervous about wearing a strong pleat. In one of my favourite colours which is the berry, burgundy, maroon colour. I find it such a warm but bold colour and it adds a real wow factor to any outfit. Especially when worn on the lips, I just love it! I paired this with a black, silk, lingerie-style strap bodysuit. Made popular by so many celebs but I find this style is more wearable than some the ones they wear. The underwear on the outside look is still a big trend and I can see it going strong for a while yet. Why not embrace it? I finished this look off with to the knee lace up, heeled boots adding to the sexy feels. Finally, an oversized long jacket so you can take it off and BAM, your outfit says the rest.

Yellow will be the colour of Spring and Summer 2018. It is such a bright an daring colour but can be scary to wear. Here, I have used yellow in accessories to make it a less daunting colour. A velvet and frilled top taking essences of the 90’s. Styled with these, beautifully on trend wide leg, large striped trousers. Flares and the whole sixties vibe is really creeping through in fashion this year trends. So, take this outfit inspiration and run with it. Plus a striking and confident look for Valentine’s day is going to be a winner.

The final look is a much bigger look for a much bigger occasion and is a beautiful blue gown. I noticed that all black was being replaced on the catwalks with navy blues. With this in mind, I styled this gorgeous navy blue dress with simple and classy heels. Then I added some stunning colt blue and gold for the pop of colour. I love how sophisticated this looks is and is 100% outfit inspiration for me. I need to find some where to wear this for Valentines day. But if you happen to be going to a Valentine’s ball this would be perfect.
What are your plans for Valentine’s day this year? Which outfit inspiration would you wear on a Valentine’s date? My fave is the coral dress or yellow look. Let me know yours in the comments below. Lots of Love,
Tahnee

Girl, I am loving all of these outfits! There is something here for everyone. If I had to choose a favorite, I like how edgy outfit 1 is and I like the striped pants with the pops of yellow.

  2. I love black, but would probably go for a bright colour on V-day. Red sounds good, or even a soft green or blue would work for me 🙂
